Tiffany Stained Glass
innovative glass creations of an exquisite nature
Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933) was an American artist and designer who studied in New York and Paris and is most associated with the Art Nouveau movement. His unique creations include stained glass windows and lamps, glass mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, jewelry, enamels and metalwork. Our journal covers celebrate the brilliant, gem-like colours and the elegant window panel designs created by Tiffany and his artisans during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. involving opalescent glass in a variety of colours, Tiffany eliminated the need for painted decoration. The incorporation of leadwork as an integral part of the designs and the subtle and exquisite differences in shading within each portion of glass created objects of magical beauty.
These leaded window panel selections belong to the extensive collection of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Florida. They grace the covers of our handstitched journals featuring lined cream laid paper signatures and a magnetic strap closure.
